Education
I have a Bachelors degree in Mathematics from Wellesley College. I then attended Boston University and graduated with a Master of Arts in Teaching Mathematics 8-12 with a GPA of 3.8. I then attended Salem State University and graduated with a Masters of Science in Mathematics with a GPA of 3.94.
Experience
I currently am teaching in a new school and am helping to grow their computer science offerings, so I teach AP Comp Sci and AP Comp Sci Principles I taught at private school for 2 years, where I taught AP Comp Sci, Adv Topics in CS and Geometry CP. For five years I taught at a High School While there I taught Algebra 1(CP), Algebra 2(CP+H), Geometry(Fundamentals), Statistics(AP), MCAS Prep, SAT Prep, AP Computer Science and Computer Programming. While there I won the MIMSI award for AP teachers. I am currently a reader for the AP Comp Sci Exam. I have tutored kids aged 4-18 in a variety of math subjects and tutored for the SAT. I received a 2260 on the SAT (800 Math, 780 writing, 680 reading). I also received a 36 on the Math section of the ACT and a 35 on the writing section of the ACT. I received an 800 on the Math SATII, and a 5 on the AP Calculus BC, Statistics, Physics C-Mechanics and Computer Science exams. Teaching and Mathematics are my two major passions and tutoring is a great way for me to enjoy these passions. While at Salem State, I won the Graduate Computer Science Programming Competition. I currently run a math team for elementary school kids where I work on teaching younger students problem solving skills to help them later in their math careers. I also hope to show them how much fun math can be!
